This Month’s Must-Know: September Important Updates

At Alevia, we know that navigating a weight management journey is easier when you know exactly what’s happening with your care team — and who’s in your corner.

Here’s what’s new this September.

A schedule update from Dr Monica Foong

From 1 September, Dr Monica Foong will be moving to a new consulting schedule: Tuesdays and Wednesdays, 1pm to 4pm.

We know continuity of care matters, especially when you’ve built a relationship with your GP over time. If this change affects an upcoming appointment, our reception team is here to help you find a time that works — or to connect you with another member of our medical team so your care stays on track.

A reminder for our Members: Health coach support is only a booking away

Weight management isn’t a straight line, and some weeks are harder than others. That’s exactly why our multidisciplinary model exists.

If you’re a Member and could use some extra support — whether that’s troubleshooting a plateau, working through a tricky social event, or simply needing someone to talk your week through with — you can book a Telehealth appointment with our Health Coach, Olga Wheeler.

Olga’s role is all about the space between appointments: the practical, day-to-day support that helps you stay consistent with the plan you and your GP have built together. There’s no problem too small to bring to her. Reaching out for support isn’t a sign you’re falling behind — it’s part of doing this properly.

Welcoming Jamie Duret, our new Operations Manager

Some things take a while to bring to life — and the best things are worth the wait.

We’re thrilled to welcome Jamie Duret to Alevia as our new Operations Manager.

We hold ourselves to a high standard: every patient who walks through our doors, or logs into a Telehealth call, deserves an exceptional experience. So when it came to finding the right person to help lead our operations, we took our time. Nine months, in fact — long enough to make a baby, and well worth the wait.

Jamie will play a key role in our ongoing mission to deliver evidence-based, empathic care to people living with obesity, and in keeping the patient at the centre of everything we do. We’re looking forward to the new ways Jamie will help us serve our community even better.

Welcome to the team, Jamie — we’re glad you’re here.

Have a question about any of the above? Reach out to our reception team — we’re always happy to help you navigate your care with us.
