This Month’s Must-Watch: Your September Members Webinars

At Alevia, we know that lasting change doesn’t happen in isolation. It happens in partnership — with your medical team, with the people who understand what you’re going through, and with the tools and knowledge that help you make sense of your own journey.

That’s the thinking behind our members-only webinar series. Each month, we bring you face-to-face (well, screen-to-screen) with the experts who make up your multidisciplinary care team, so you can ask real questions, hear real answers, and walk away with something practical to apply straightaway. September is no exception, with two sessions designed to meet you exactly where you are — whether that’s needing direct medical guidance or working through the barriers that make progress feel harder than it should.

Here’s what’s on this month.

Members Connect: Live Q&A with Dr Catherine Bacus

Tuesday 2 September, 7:30pm AEST | Zoom

There’s no substitute for getting your questions answered directly by a doctor who understands the complexity of medical weight management — not a generic FAQ page, not a forum thread, but a real conversation with someone who has walked hundreds of patients through exactly what you’re navigating now.

This session is your chance to bring the questions you’ve been sitting on. Maybe it’s about how your medication is working, what a plateau actually means, how to interpret a recent result, or simply what “normal” looks like at your stage of treatment. No question is too small, and nothing here is about quick fixes — it’s about giving you the evidence-based context you need to feel confident and informed as a genuine partner in your own care.

Getting Unstuck: Overcoming Barriers to Weight Loss

With Health Coach Olga Wheeler | Wednesday 16 September, 7:30pm AEST | Zoom

Progress in weight management is rarely a straight line, and almost everyone hits a point where motivation dips, routines slip, or an old pattern resurfaces. That’s not failure — it’s part of the process, and it’s exactly what this session is for.

Olga will walk through the most common barriers members face — from mindset hurdles to the everyday, practical obstacles that get in the way of consistency — and share strategies grounded in self-compassion rather than self-criticism. If you’ve ever felt stuck and wondered whether that means you’re not trying hard enough, this session is a reminder that getting unstuck is a skill you can build, not a personality trait you either have or don’t.

Why the Scale Won’t Budge: Understanding Weight Loss Plateaus

With Sarah Morgan, APD | Tuesday 30 September, 7:30pm AEST | Zoom

Few things are more frustrating — or more misunderstood — than a plateau. You’re doing everything right, and the number on the scale simply won’t move. It’s one of the most common reasons people lose confidence in their plan, and one of the most common misunderstandings in weight management.

Accredited Practising Dietitian Sarah Morgan will unpack the physiology behind plateaus: why they happen, what they actually mean (and don’t mean) about your progress, and the evidence-based strategies to work through them. You’ll leave with a clearer understanding of your body’s response to treatment, and the reassurance that a stalled scale is a normal, explainable part of the process — not a sign that something has gone wrong.

Why We Do This

Sustainable weight management isn’t something that happens to you during a single consultation — it’s built through ongoing support, honest conversation, and access to the right expertise at the right time. Our members webinars exist because we believe education and connection are just as much a part of your treatment as any prescription or care plan.

How to Join

Zoom links for each session are sent directly to members on the Monday of the relevant week — so keep an eye on your inbox. If you’re a member and haven’t received your details closer to the date, reach out to our team and we’ll sort you out.

We look forward to seeing you there.
