A warm, experienced practitioner bringing over 15 years of general practice experience to Alevia’s Wantirna clinic — and a belief that thoughtful, individualised care starts with listening.
Finding the right doctor for your weight management care can feel daunting. You may be looking for someone who considers the whole picture — not just a number on a scale. Someone who listens, understands that weight is influenced by many factors, and works with you in a way that reflects your circumstances. That is the kind of care Dr Zoe Singleton aims to provide.
A Career Built on Genuine Care
Zoe graduated from the University of Melbourne in 2006, and in the nearly two decades since, she has built a career shaped by the importance of the doctor-patient relationship. She joined the Alevia team in March 2024, bringing a depth of general practice experience and an approach that is warm, thorough, and collaborative.
“I value building rapport with patients and working collaboratively on care that reflects their individual circumstances.” — Dr Zoe Singleton
That belief in partnership is central to how Zoe practises medicine. It means she listens carefully before making recommendations. It means care is tailored to the individual rather than based on a one-size-fits-all approach. And it means that during a health journey that can feel complex or difficult, patients have a doctor who works with them to consider their needs, goals, and clinical circumstances.
Why Weight Management, and Why Alevia?
After years of managing patients with complex chronic illness, Zoe became increasingly drawn to preventive health — supporting people to reduce health risks where possible, and to manage chronic conditions with appropriate medical care. Weight management sits closely alongside that work.
Zoe understands that reaching and maintaining a healthier weight can be challenging, and that biology, hormones, mental health, life circumstances, and lived experience can all play a role. She also understands that what is appropriate for one person may not be appropriate for another. That is why she supports evidence-informed care tailored to the individual: an approach that aligns with Alevia’s model of medically supervised weight management.
Her Clinical Areas of Interest
Medical weight management and obesity care
Preventive medicine and health optimisation
Women’s health
Mental health support
Bariatric care coordination
Chronic disease management
This breadth matters. At Alevia, we understand obesity as a complex, chronic condition — not a simple arithmetic problem. Zoe’s range of experience means care can take into account a wide range of factors that may shape a person’s health, including physical, hormonal, psychological, and lifestyle considerations. She continues to practise as a GP alongside her work in medical weight management, bringing a broad general practice perspective to consultations.
The Human Behind the Stethoscope
Zoe is also a busy mum of two girls and a miniature schnauzer — the dog is an important detail. When she is not in clinic, you will find her on the pilates mat or deep in a good book.
We mention this because it reflects something patients often value in a doctor: an understanding that health decisions happen in the context of real life. Zoe’s approach is grounded in practical, individualised care for people navigating full, complicated, and demanding lives.
At Alevia, we believe patients should have access to medical care that considers their history, circumstances, goals, and barriers. Dr Zoe Singleton brings warmth, experience, and a collaborative approach to her consultations at our Wantirna clinic.
